WHEN ARE THEY AVAILABLE?
If you live locally, the puppies will be ready to go to their new homes sometime after Tuesday, February 13, 2007. We are located in Enterprise, AL, which is about 20 miles from Dothan, AL.
If you require shipping, most airlines require puppies to be at least 8 weeks old. That makes the availability date sometime after Tuesday, February 27, 2007.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PUPPIES:
There are three girls and two boys in this litter of puppies. The mother is Pekingese and the father is a Yorkshire Terrier. This hybrid breed is sometimes called Yorkinese, Peke-a-Shire, or Pekorkies. Two of the puppies are dark bronze/brown in color with tan, black, and white highlights. The other three puppies are mostly black with some tan & white highlights.
SALES PRICE FOR THE YORKINESE / PEKE-A-SHERE / PEKORKIES:
As these puppies are bred for their qualities as pets and companions, we are asking $325.00 for the male puppies and $375.00 for the female puppies. We will happily hold the puppy of your choice for a $150.00 non-refundable deposit. The balance is due before your puppy leaves our possession. Be sure to read the conditions of the deposit and the conditions of sale below.
If you live near us, we will happily meet you at a place convenient for both of us to save you some driving time. As long as that distance is less than 75 miles round trip, there is no extra cost. Anything over that and we need to negotiate a fair transportation fee.
By the way, nothing is ever carved in stone. We will consider every reasonable offer. Our primary concern is that these loving puppies find homes with loving families. If you know your family is one of those, please talk to us.
HOW TO MAKE YOUR DEPOSIT:
You may place a deposit on the puppy of your choice by mailing us a US Postal Money order or by sending the deposit via PayPal. If you do not have a PayPal account set up, it is easy to do, and it is free. Using PayPal will allow you to use any major credit card or debit card to make the deposit and/or send the total payment for your new puppy. We also accept cash, but we do not recommend sending cash through the mail.
We accept deposits on a first come basis. The order of choosing puppies is the same as the order we receive deposits.
If you are setting up a new PayPal account, you need to let us know your intentions as we may need to place a one day hold while you set up the account with PayPal. Let us know if you need any help in setting up the account.
CONDITION OF DEPOSIT:
Your $150.00 deposit will hold the puppy of your choice until you take physical custody of the puppy, or until the puppy ships, whichever is appropriate. The terms and conditions of your deposit are outlined in the sample Puppy Holding Agreement.
If you plan to pick up the puppy, your deposit expires 7-days after the deposit is made, or when the puppy turns 8-weeks old, whichever is later.
If you arrange to have the puppy shipped to you, your deposit expires 7-days after the deposit is made, or when the puppy turns 9-weeks old, whichever is later. We will not ship a puppy until he is 8-weeks old. Make sure to read about the requirements for shipping a puppy below.
All deposits are non-refundable, unless the health of the puppy is such that our vet advises against selling the puppy. If this happens we will happily refund your deposit and provide you with a copy of the vet's diagnosis. Naturally, if you wish to wait for the puppy's health to improve, we will gladly work with you.
We may also refund a deposit if we for any reason we feel that the potential new owner or new home is unfit for the puppy. We take the well-being of all of our animals very seriously, and we place a high value on the quality of life the puppies can expect. If we come to such a decision, we will refund your deposit and give you a written (via email if appropriate) explanation as to why we have chosen not to place one of our puppies into your care.
Other extreme circumstances are handled on a case-by-case basis. Naturally, if you are unable to complete the transaction but find another buyer, we will gladly refund your deposit once we receive the other buyer's deposit. Just make sure the other buyer alerts us that they want the puppy that you reserved. You will need to let us know this in advance as well.
We want to make this transaction as easy for you and for us as is humanly or caninely possible. Again, our major concern is that the puppies go to a family that will love them and help them thrive.
CONDITION OF SALE:
All purchases require a "Puppy Contract" which we prepare and which you must sign. If you arrange shipping for the puppy, you must print the contract, have your signature notarized and mail us a hard copy of the document. We cannot release the puppy until we receive the original document. We encourage you to review a sample of our Puppy Contract in PDF format prior to making your deposit. This is a sample contract: the actual contract will be sent to you via email with all of your identifying information in the proper places.
One part of the contract that you need to read is what you agree to in the future with one of our puppies. If for any reason, at any time in the future, you find that you are unable to properly care for the puppy/dog, we require that you give us the first opportunity to adopt the puppy/dog. When we use the term "adopt" we mean that we will take custody of the puppy/dog without any type of compensation. We do not want to see one of our puppies end up in a shelter or pound because they have become a burden on you or your family. Should such an eventuality arise, you have the comfort of knowing that your puppy/dog will have a good home, or that we will place it in a good home for you. Naturally, such subsequent placement will be done on a no cost basis to the new owner.
SHIPPING ARRANGEMENTS:
If you wish to have your new puppy shipped to you, we will work closely with you to make sure that this happens in a manner that is safe and comfortable for the puppy. Please review the shipping website referenced later. You need to be aware of weather restrictions as they apply to hot weather or extremely cold weather.
Naturally, you are responsible for all costs involved with shipping the puppy. These costs include you providing us with an airline approved live animal crate appropriate for the animal. We have searched locally and the best price on a suitable crate is about $35.00 from Wal-Mart. Another additional cost is obtaining a health certificate and acclimation statement from our vet; both are required by the airline. The cost of the actual shipping of the puppy is paid by you as well. We will gladly pick up an appropriate shipping crate that meets the requirements of the airline. You only need to include the money for that with your payment for your puppy.
The puppy must ship out of the Dothan, AL airport (DHN airport code). Currently, Delta is the only airline servicing that airport. Please make sure that you understand their regulations about the crate, weather conditions, the time the puppy needs to arrive in Dothan, and the time that you need to be at the airport on your end to take custody of the animal. You will pay the shipping fees when you pick up the puppy. We will transport the puppy to the Dothan airport for you one time at no additional cost. If anything prevents the puppy from being sent once we arrive in Dothan, each subsequent attempt will incur a $35.00 handling fee that must be paid before we leave to transport the puppy to the airport. In other words, if we arrive in Dothan and the airline determines that the weather conditions between Dothan and your airport are outside of their acceptable parameters for shipping a puppy, then we will have to take the puppy home and try again another day. The Dothan airport is a 40 mile roundtrip for us and usually Delta requires the puppy to be in their custody before 6 a.m. This is the reason for the extra handling fee for subsequent trips. We will do everything in our power to make sure that we do not waste any trips: however, Delta has the final say on whether the puppy flies that day or not.

Boy # 1 - Black w/Tan Highlights w/ Small White Chest Marking
February 6, 2007
This little boy is very active and loves to play. You have to watch him, as he has a sneaky tendency to "attack" as soon as you are not looking at him. He loves to cuddle with his siblings and sometimes climbs on top of one of them and falls asleep. When I walk by the puppy room, he is usually one of the first ones to hop up and come running towards the door. He loves cuddling and enjoys having his fur combed. Based on comparing his size against the puppies from previous litters, I expect him to stay below 9 pounds. This is a good thing since he loves to run and jump on your foot when he gets the chance.

Girl # 1 - Black w/Tan Highlights w/ Small White Chest Marking
February 6, 2007
This little girl has a story to tell. She was the second one born of all of the puppies, and she took her sweet time making her entrance to the world. She had us worried for a while, as she was born not breathing and without a heart beat. With a little work, I had her breathing and making some noises, but each time I stopped handling her, she quit breathing. Thankfully, I had some help during delivery, as the next puppy came along just a few minutes after her. I had to hand this little girl off to help her mother with the next puppies. In between each, I worked on this little girl non-stop. Each time I had her breathing, I attempted to put her in the box with her mother who would start cleaning her and then she pushed her away and towards me. When the mother pushed her away, she always whimpered and looked at me as if to say, "Fix her for me." Once the last puppy arrived, I decided that I needed to try suctioning her airway with more pressure than the squeeze bulb could create. Using a clean latex glove, I formed a ring with my finger and thumb, then pressed her snout into the bottom of the ring. Then I placed my mouth on the top of the ring and gently applied suctioning. After a few times of doing that, I had some bubbles coming out of her nose. I used the squeeze bulb and cleared more liquid from her air way, but that still did not work. I tried using suction again, and then began a slow but steady process of gently inflating her lungs and suctioning them every few seconds. Whenever I would feel her heart stop beating, I would gently begin to quickly squeeze her chest. After several minutes of doing this, she began to complain quite loudly. When she did that, the mother hopped out of the box and took her from me. Since then the little girl has done great! She plays, she eats, she absolutely LOVES to cuddle. When I sit in the puppy room, she is usually the first one to get next to a foot and fall asleep. She will fall asleep while you comb her and loves belly rubs. Since the first day she has been the smallest of all of the puppies. In fact, out of five litters of puppies in the past 18 months, she is the smallest of any of them at the same age. I expect that she is going to stay under seven pounds.

Girl # 2 - Black w/Tan Highlights w/ Small White Chest Marking
February 6, 2007
This girl is smart and very curious about everything. She loves it when you pick her up and cuddle her like a little baby. I believe she is going to have a coat that feels like human hair. One of the boys that we kept from a previous litter had the same texture on his coat at the same age. Like the others she loves to have her coat combed. She is quite playful at times but when she is done playing she has no problem stopping for a nap. The only problem is that she stops right in the middle of a stride and is asleep before she has completely hit the floor. It is like someone presses an off-switch. She is very sweet and gives all kinds of kisses. She loves to cuddle in your lap, or in your hands.

Boy # 2 - Brown w/Tan & White Highlights
February 6, 2007
This guy is going to be the biggest of all of the puppies. I fully expect him to reach 12 or 13 pounds when full grown. He came out big and has continued to stay way out ahead of the others in size. Despite the size difference, he does not bully his siblings. He is the most playful puppy in the litter and since he began playing, has no problem entertaining himself with whatever is at hand. We keep small tennis balls in the puppy room and it is not unusual to walk by and see him trying to pick it up in his mouth. If the ball slips away from him, he chases it and pounces on the ball as if it were alive. Sometimes he gets bored by himself and if none of the others are awake, he picks one and tells them to get up and play. He loves to be held, loves belly rubs, loves having his coat combed, and just generally loves interacting with humans and other dogs. He gives plenty of kisses and will lay in my lap for long periods of time thinking that he is the king of the room. He seems to have a face that appears as if he is always smiling. He is going to be one of those dogs that thinks that everything in the world was put there for fun. If one of his siblings whines or squeaks when it gets hurt, he will go running to them to see if they are OK. As soon as he knows they are OK, he puts his head down and starts a wrestling match. I guess he believes if you are not really hurt, then you need to be playing.

Girl # 3 - Brown w/Tan & White Highlights
February 6, 2007
What a cute face this little girl has. Her eyes seem to tell a story, but do not be fooled into thinking she is lazy. She is anything but lazy. Probably after the brown boy, she is the next most playful of the puppies. Like the others she loves attention. She thinks having her coat combed is a treat worthy of tons of kisses afterwards. She loves to sit in my lap and observe the others as they run around playing. Most of the time she falls asleep there, but watch her closely because she loves to open up a can of "sneak attack" when the other puppies least expect it. Like the rest, she loves to play with the other dogs in the house and has a "crush" on the oldest male MinPin. She is also a little on the bossy side. If the others are not doing what she wants them to do, she barks (it's really hard to qualify that sound as a bark) at them to let them know what she means. When I bring in their puppy mush, she seems a bit impatient and insists that I should put it down now rather than waiting for it to cool down to a safe temperature. If she decides that another puppy has been in my lap long enough, she will stop what she is doing and come tell me to put the other puppy down because it is her turn now. She reminds me a little of one of her brothers from another litter who loves to talk. I do not mean bark, he makes sounds that seem to have some kind of meaning to them. She also reminds me of her half-brother Bamboo who is quite bossy himself. When you get onto Bamboo for something he talks back to you just like he was a teenager. I believe that this little girl is going to be the same way. It's not a bad thing because it is just so cute to watch such a little thing mouth off to something 40 or 50 times its size.
